Who are Yorkshire Meow?

At this moment in time there is just me, Alex. I love cats and have had pets all my life, from cats and dogs to fish, tortoise and hamsters. Currently I have two beautiful girls, a tabby Luna and a bengal Freyja.

What areas do you cover?

I try to keep around the Northallerton and Bedale areas.

Do you charge extra for bank holidays?

Yes, bank holidays such as Christmas, New Years Day and Boxing Day are charged at a little bit extra, unless you get a 7 day deal, please see prices here.

Do you require a deposit before care period?

Yes, a 50% non refundable deposit of the total sum is payable before care takes place.

How discreet are you?

I try to be as discreet as I can be, I do not advertise on my car or clothing.

Do you walk dogs?

Sorry but at this moment in time I don’t walk dogs. I can however let your pup out in the garden during the visit.

Do you look after other animals apart from cats?

I can look after other animals as well such as hamsters, chickens etc. All animals will need to be vet checked and not have any active contagious diseases, including fleas as we don’t want to pass it on to other clients.

Do you charge to administer medication?

No, it is included in the service

Do I require an in-home consultation?

If you are a new customer or if you are an existing customer who got a new pet then the in-home consultation is required. This is so that we could meet your pet and make sure they like us before care can begin.

Do you provide cat food, litter etc?

No, it is the pet parent’s responsibility to provide these, if however you run out during the care period, we will purchase more and add these costs to your invoice.

What happens if my pet gets ill?

We are there to keep your pet company but also keep an eye on its health and well being while you are away. If we suspect any sickness or injury, we will take your pet to your vet for treatment.  The client will be responsible for the cost of vet treatment.

Should I lock the cat flap when I am away?

We would strongly advise that you do lock the cat flap while your pet is in our care, this is so that we can make sure that your pet eats and drinks regularly, is healthy and has play time.
